Soum: United Women Revitalize Djibo Town Hall with Community Cleanup

Ouagadougou: The Provincial Coordination of Women's Organizations of Soum transformed the Djibo town hall's appearance on Saturday, September 27, 2025, through an extensive sanitation initiative. This citizen-led effort has received commendations from local authorities, showcasing the women's commitment to enhancing their local environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the united women of Djibo gathered in solidarity from the early hours of the morning, equipped with brooms, hoes, rakes, and wheelbarrows. They worked diligently to remove weeds and clear away piles of garbage from the town hall's grounds. The President of the special delegation (PDS) praised the participants for their civic-mindedness and responsibility, describing the initiative as "exemplary." He emphasized the importance of such efforts in supporting local authorities' sanitation and social cohesion initiatives.

The cleanup activity attracted other residents, broadening the community's involvement in this significant operation. Even a light rain late in the morning did not deter the participants, who remained dedicated to their task, demonstrating their unwavering commitment.
