Ouagadougou: More than 2,600 new high school graduates immerse themselves in compulsory patriotic immersion in Banfora. The Tannounyan region hosted, this Wednesday, the launching ceremony of the first edition of the patriotic immersion, at the Hema Fadouga Gnambiah Municipal High School (LMHFB) in Banfora.
According to Burkina Information Agency, 2,679 new high school graduates, girls and boys from the region, are participating in this innovative program wanted by the Burkina Faso authorities since Monday, August 11, 2025. The initiative aims to forge a model youth, patriotic, conscious, disciplined, committed, and dedicated to the construction of a sovereign and prosperous Burkina Faso.
Participants listened to a delayed message from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©. He reiterated that this immersion meets the objectives of the Progressive and Popular Revolution. "The revolution needs honest, upright, and supportive citizens," he insisted.
For thirty days, the young people will take part in sports, cultural activities, and training sessions spread across four sites throughout the region. This program is intended to be a school of life, where collective effort and the spirit of service to the nation will be emphasized.
The Secretary General of the region, Toussaint Meda, sent a vibrant message to the new graduates following that of the Head of State. "Understand the message of the Head of State, take courage and stand firm while respecting the instructions that will be given," he said. He congratulated them and invited them to persevere throughout this patriotic immersion.
In a context where the country is in a phase of profound transformation, he urged young people to an individual and collective transformation, placing the interest of the nation above personal ambitions. This ceremony was chaired by Secretary General Toussaint Meda, representing the Governor of the Tannounyan region.
