Baz¨ga Holiday Camp: More Than Fifty Children in Kombissiri Embrace Arts and Culture

Baz¨ga: The association "Bienvenue th©Stre du Baz¨ga" (BTB) recently concluded its "Arts and Culture" holiday camp, which introduced more than fifty children to various artistic and cultural activities in Kombissiri. The camp's closing ceremony on August 9, 2025, was attended by provincial authorities and the campers' parents.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the 2025 holiday camp marked the fourth edition organized by the BTB association, aimed at developing conscious, creative, and engaged citizens. This year's camp, which ran from August 1st to August 9th, attracted children aged 6 to 17 from Kombissiri, Doulougou, To©c©, and Ouagadougou.

Mahamadi Bonkoungou, the executive director of BTB, emphasized the camp's role in positively engaging children during the holidays. He highlighted the camp's alignment with Burkina Faso's national goals of fostering future citizens who are committed to their homeland.

Under the theme "Cultural Education and Patriotic Commitment," the camp exposed children to performing arts, first aid, gardening, and reforestation. Judica«l Sandwidi, one of the camp's supervisors, noted that the children explored disciplines such as slam, storytelling, theater, lip-syncing, and various dance forms.

Beyond artistic endeavors, the campers engaged in practical activities like gardening, learning about market crops, and gaining knowledge in reforestation and life-saving first aid techniques.

The camp's finale on August 9 provided a platform for the children to showcase their newly acquired skills to an appreciative audience of city officials and parents. Sergine Tapsoba, a representative of the children, expressed their joy and satisfaction with the camp experience.

Parents, represented by spokesperson Marie Joseph Kafando/Zangr©, extended their gratitude to the organizers for offering such a valuable and enriching experience for their children.

The event concluded with the presence of notable figures including Boukary Porgo, president of the Kombissiri special delegation, and sponsors such as Honorable Eric Tapsoba, a member of the transitional legislative assembly, and Claude Ou©draogo, the provincial director of basic education in Baz¨ga. Lassan© Younga, the provincial director of culture, also attended as the artistic sponsor.
