Burkina’s Prime Minister Launches 155 Buses to Enhance Urban Mobility

Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo has unveiled a fleet of 155 buses in a bid to improve urban mobility across Burkina Faso. This move is part of the broader Presidential Initiative for Quality Education aimed at facilitating transportation for pupils, students, and all citizens.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the newly launched buses are the first installment of a total of 530 buses ordered by President Ibrahim Traor©. The initiative seeks to significantly enhance the mobility of the Burkinabe populace. During the handover ceremony, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of these vehicles and entrusted the first batch to €š¬…¡¬°mile Zerbo, the Minister of State and Minister of Territorial Administration and Mobility, with a directive to ensure their optimal use and maintenance.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need for exemplary management and maintenance of the buses, asserting that they represent a significant investment by the Burkinabe people. He announced that an additional 300 buses are expected to be delivered by the end of the year, marking a historic expansion of the country's public transportation capabilities. SOTRACO, the transportation company, has been tasked with developing an efficient management plan to maximize the longevity and utility of the fleet.

Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo also called on citizens to adhere to usage guidelines and exhibit responsible behavior to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the transportation initiative. The Prime Minister underscored this as both a challenge and a communal responsibility to maintain the fleet for the benefit of all.
