Sourou: The provincial directorate of water and forests of Sourou, in collaboration with the organizations of phytotherapists, planted 421 medicinal plants on the Kassan site in the commune of Tougan. This initiative took place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and is part of the presidential initiative "one province, one medicinal plant grove."
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Provincial Director of Water and Forests of Sourou, Meth©o Malo, emphasized that the objective is to enable traditional practitioners in the province to access these plants more easily for their treatments. Mr. Malo stated, "We need to find a medicinal plant grove so that our traditional practitioners can use them to treat the sick, since some species are endangered."
The president of the traditional practitioners of Sourou, Adama Dao, expressed approval of this initiative, highlighting that the medicinal plant grove will provide access to previously inaccessible plants, enhancing their effectiveness in treating diseases.
The High Commissioner of Sourou province, D©sir© Badolo, praised the population for their involvement and encouraged them to maintain the grove to facilitate care using the newly planted medicinal species.
