Campers Explore Ouagadougou Airport, Air Base, and Thomas Sankara Memorial

Ouagadougou: Participants in the second wave of the Faso Mebo Holiday Camp in Ouagadougou embarked on a discovery trip to Ouagadougou International Airport, the Air Base, and the Thomas Sankara Memorial.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campers began their journey at Ouagadougou International Airport, where they visited the presidential lounge, the airport tarmac, the rescue and fire-fighting services, and the immigration services. This visit provided a comprehensive overview of the airport's operations and facilities.

Following their exploration of the airport, the campers proceeded to the Air Base. Here, they toured the air base's fleet and various technical departments, gaining insights into civil and military aviation. The aim of visiting these sites was to showcase the authorities' efforts in aviation and to inspire careers in the field.

The final stop on their tour was the Thomas Sankara Memorial. Campers explored significant landmarks such as the statue of President Thomas Sankara and his 12 companions, the Mausoleum, and Thomas Sankara's office. This visit aimed to immerse the campers in the vision of President Thomas Sankara, learning about his personality, vision, achievements, and iconic quotes. The experience was designed to connect them with the legacy of the Democratic and Popular Revolution (RDP) and the continuation of the Progressive Popular Revolution (RPP).
