Ouagadougou: The coach of Rahim Ouedraogo Football Club (Rahimo FC) of Burkina Faso, Jamil Benouahi, declared Friday in Ouagadougou at a pre-match press conference that he is ready for a good result against AS Manga Sport of Gabon. The teams will meet tomorrow, Saturday, September 20, at the August 4 stadium, in the first leg of the African Champions League preliminary round.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Rahimo FC coach Jamil Benouahi expressed confidence in his team's preparation, noting successes in recent competitions such as the Kankan tournament in Guinea and the AJSB Super Cup final. However, Benouahi acknowledged the unpredictability of the Champions League, emphasizing the need for strength both physically and mentally, as well as adaptability due to unfamiliarity with their opponent.
Benouahi outlined his strategy to observe the first ten minutes of the game before implementing tactics, with a focus on both offensive and defensive strength. The coach underscored the team's ambition to win and progress further in the competition by playing as many matches as possible.
Team captain Ardjouma Ouattara echoed the coach's sentiments, highlighting the importance of concentration and mental resilience, given the significant difference between this match and regular championship games.
AS Manga Sport's coach, Djony Kevin, reported that his team had undergone normal preparations and expressed readiness for the match. Captain and striker Yanga Desny of Manga Sport declared their intent to either win or, at the very least, avoid losing.
The eagerly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. TU at the Stade du 4 Aout in Ouagadougou.
