Equatorial Guinea and Singapore work on G5 progress

The Ambassador in Brussels, Carmelo Nvono-Nca, met his counterpart from Singapore, Jaya Ratnam, in the Belgian capital, with the aim of looking at some aspects on the agenda of what could be the first meeting of the G5 group of countries.

This group, which has been three years in the making, will bring together a nation from each continent that meets the conditions of being small, but with large economic potential and resources. It is hoped that Equatorial Guinea can be the representative from Africa.

For his part, the Ambassador from Singapore once again demonstrated the growing interest from his country to be the nation that represents the Asian continent. Like Equatorial Guinea, Ratnam stressed at the meeting that Singapore is a small country, with huge economic potential, and could this faithfully represent small Asian States. Furthermore, the Ambassador from Singapore passed on first hand congratulations to the President of Equatorial Guinea, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for this initiative that will provide visibility for the position of the smallest countries in the world.
