Head of State holds audience with Cosmos chiefs

At a meeting with the head of the company on 12th December the Head of State was informed that the oil company Cosmos plans to drill an exploration well in 2023.

On the sidelines of the Africa-America Leaders’ Summit, the President of the Republic, the Head of State, met the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cosmos oil company, Andrew Ingles, in Washington. This meeting was a chance to notify the President of the Republic of the drilling of a new well in the near future, which would mark a new horizon for their company in Equatorial Guinea.

The Minister for Mines and Hydrocarbons, Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima, spoke of the continuity of the company’s activities in Equatorial Guinea and highlighted its activities in other neighbouring countries.

Andrew Ingles expressed satisfaction with the meeting with H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, describing the meeting as very fruitful and indicating that they had presented his company’s plans to the Head of State and that they would guarantee a new era for Cosmos in Equatorial Guinea, with the aim of increasing the overall production of the field.

Furthermore, the president of the oil company revealed that one of his company’s intentions was to increase the national workforce if the project was successful.

Washington is hosting the United States-Africa Forum, and several Heads of State and delegations from African countries are already present in the city. The Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, arrived on Sunday afternoon to take part in the forum.
