Nahouri Reforestation Effort Sees Over 1,500 Plants Planted in Ziou

Nahouri: The vital forces of the commune of Ziou planted more than 1,500 plants of several varieties in the communal grove located in the village of Toungou on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the driving forces of Ziou commune, located approximately fifty kilometers east of P´, gathered for a communal tree day following their participation in the provincial tree day. The head of the departmental water and forestry service, Abdoulaye Ouattara, emphasized the current government initiative to plant medicinal trees aimed at addressing certain health issues. He urged the community to protect and nurture these plants.

Salam Maran©, president of the special delegation of Ziou, who inaugurated the tree-planting activities, expressed appreciation for the involvement of the local population and traditional practitioners. He noted that this engagement reflects the community's support for presidential initiatives. Maran© encouraged residents to continue backing the effort to foster the growth of medicinal plants in the area.
