Nando Regional Dialogue Framework: An Encouraging 2025 Assessment for Regional Development

Nando: Commitment to regional development is bearing fruit. This was the outcome of the second ordinary session of the Nando Regional Dialogue Framework (CRD), held Wednesday in the conference room of the Nando Regional Council. Chaired by the governor of the region, Adama Jean Yves B©r©, this meeting provided an opportunity to draw up a mid-term assessment of the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development (PA-SD), showing results significantly higher than the previous year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the performance report presented at the session revealed a positive outcome. As of June 30, 2025, the PA-SD physical execution rate reached 58.13%, a significant improvement compared to the 31.02% recorded during the same period in 2024. Of the 82 planned actions, 19 have been fully implemented, 47 are in progress and only 16 have not yet started. Financially, the effort was also notable. With an expenditure of 11,037,628,609 FCFA out of a forecast of 27,252,367,549 FCFA, the execution rate climbed to 40.56%, again exceeding the 30.40% of 2024.

Governor B©r© congratulated the technical secretariat and all the stakeholders for their dynamism, attributing these results to their "dedication and commitment." Among the concrete achievements that demonstrate this performance are several initiatives having a direct impact on the lives of the population. These include accommodation for 782 students, the granting of more than 3,000 scholarships, the development of 2,872 hectares of lowlands for agriculture, and the provision of 1,641 tonnes of subsidized fertilizer for producers.

School canteens have been strengthened with 440 additional structures, and thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable people have benefited from food assistance and care. Governor B©r© also recalled the development of 122 hectares of market gardens, the construction of 34 boreholes and 8 drinking water infrastructures, as well as the planting of 428,458 plants, all actions which strengthen the region's resilience in the face of climate and security challenges.

Despite these advances, the report noted several major constraints, including delays in obtaining opinions on the use of equity and insufficient financial resources. For the second half of 2025, a budget of 16,171,655,534 FCFA has been allocated to continue these efforts. The outlook is geared towards large-scale projects such as the development of rural roads, the construction of crossing structures, the drilling of boreholes and drinking water infrastructure, as well as the construction of classrooms and street shops.

The governor concluded by calling for "more dedication and commitment to drive a new dynamic of development" and wished the work of the CRD every success.
