Dano: A network of five alleged criminals in the police net the central police station of the city of Dano dismantled a vast network of five alleged criminals, including one of foreign nationality, presented to the press on Friday, August 8, 2025. These alleged offenders were engaged in armed assault, theft and handling of two- and three-wheeled vehicles, as well as fraud, in Dano and the surrounding areas.

According to Burkina Information Agency, thanks to the cooperation of the population, investigators seized several objects from the suspects during the investigations: twelve motorcycles including a tricycle, a motorcycle washing machine, used oil, a music device, motorcycle spare parts and mobile phones.

Regarding their methods of operation, the network operated according to two methods. On the one hand, the members committed armed attacks, often wearing hoods, in the town of Dano and the communes of Gu©gu©r© and Koper, as well as in certain villages in the province of Ioba, notably Bolembar, Ham©l©, Gnikpi¨re and Djikologo. They would identify their victims, follow them to a suitable location, and then carry out the act.

On the other hand, they operated openly on market days in Dano, targeting vehicles not parked in approved parking lots. They waited for the right moment to seize them. Stolen phones were generally resold on the spot, while motorcycles were transported to a neighboring country.

The Ioba National Police thanked the people of Dano and the surrounding area for their cooperation, which led to the arrest of these individuals. It urged them to continue working with the defense and security forces, reporting any suspicious cases to the following hotlines: 16, 17, and 1010. Some victims have already recovered their devices. The alleged offenders will be presented to the public prosecutor at the Di©bougou High Court for further proceedings.
