Prime Minister Engages with Dj´r´ Region’s Religious and Civil Leaders for Development

Gaoua: Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo engaged in a series of audiences on Friday, August 1, 2025, with key figures in the Dj´r´ region, including religious authorities and civil society actors. These meetings provided an opportunity for these groups to convey their expectations and dedication towards the development of the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Monsignor Modeste Ollo Kambou, Bishop of the Diocese of Gaoua and representative of religious authorities, expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister's approach of listening and outreach. He emphasized that the discussions were characterized by an emphasis on human fraternity and unity. The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of prayers and religious guidance due to their ongoing presence and close relationship with the community. Monsignor Kambou noted the Prime Minister's reliance on religious leaders to foster a united and supportive Burkina Faso.

Nouhoun Palenfo, president of the Dj´r´ Regional Council of Civil Society Organizations, described the dialogue as sincere and constructive, highlighting several significant issues raised during the meeting. These included the operationalization of the Gaoua hemodialysis center, empowerment of the blood transfusion center, shortage of pediatric incubators, and challenges in the drinking water supply.

The Prime Minister paid close attention to these concerns and stressed the necessity for collective involvement in addressing these challenges. He assured attendees of his commitment to providing tangible solutions, emphasizing the importance of active participation in a dynamic of revolution where everyone must contribute. Palenfo welcomed the Government's dedication to advancing Burkina Faso across various sectors. Despite ongoing conflicts, he noted signs of progress and reiterated the commitment to collaborating with authorities to promote peace, social cohesion, and sustainable development.

This visit by the Prime Minister to Gaoua represents an important moment for engaging with local stakeholders in a spirit of proximity and participatory governance.
