Three Separatist Fighters Killed, Others Arrested in Bamenda


Bamenda: A group of separatist fighters who have been causing havoc in the neighborhood of Nkwen in Bamenda III Subdivision have been apprehended by elements of the Gendarmerie. A special operation led by Colonel Muabe Peter, Commander of the Territorial Gendarmerie, resulted in the killing of three members of the group, and two others were apprehended for further investigations.



According to Cameroon News Agency, the forces were informed about the unfamiliar faces who were living in an apartment in Alahlie, a quarter in Mile 4 Nkwen. The gendarmes surprised them on the night of Saturday, January 18th, killing three members of the group. Two others were apprehended, and several items, including guns, bullets, and marijuana, were seized.



The separatist group is alleged to be responsible for the killing of John Paul, a shareholder of Nso Boyz transport agency. They are also accused of leading an attack that resulted in the death of 35-year-old Ndzikem Carine on Thursday, January 16th, around Ntabessi junction.
