On 4th October 2022, in the conference room at the Ministry for Social Affairs and Gender Equality, the PISCCA project was officially launched.
The reception began with words of welcome from the Director for Civil Society, Elias Ondo Mbana Makina, followed by a speech by the Adviser on Cooperation and Cultural Action from the French Embassy, Christian Brosseron.
Sylvia Fernandez, Attaché for Cultural Action and Cooperation from the French Embassy and head of the PISCCA project, then presented the various aims of the project.
Finally, the Minister for Social Affairs and Gender Equality, Consuelo Nguema Oyana, reiterated her congratulations to the various Government authorities, the French Embassy, the United Nations and civil society organisations, and concluded her speech by proclaiming the official launch of the PISCCA project.
The PISCCA (Innovative Civil Society and Players’ Coalition Project) is a funding instrument from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, available to the 12 embassies, which allows them to carry out innovative, specific, rapid-impact actions. It is a 2-year pilot project.
The theme of this PISCCA is “Capacity Development for the social and professional integration of young people and vulnerable populations”, which aims to promote the integration of young people and vulnerable communities. It is a national project covering the whole of Equatorial Guinea, both the continental region and the islands, as the various organisations come from Malabo or Bata. Within this framework, the project is highly innovative and promising due to the fact that it aims to encourage teamwork between all project partners in order to provide each other with support, so that all objectives can be met.
-The project revolves around 4 main axes of intervention
1) Integration of vulnerable youth and communities
2) Health development
3) Professional training
4) Development of digital tools

And three components:
-financial support for projects submitted by NGOs
-training sessions on the management of joint projects
-Regular monitoring of the development of the projects allowing exchange and interaction with NGOs at the youth centre.
Following an inter-ministerial selection process with local authorities, the 10 CSOs selected and introduced in Malabo and Bata were chosen.
The ultimate goal is to achieve, through all actions, the structuring, strengthening and teamwork of civil society players in order to transform and improve Equatoguinean civil society.
