President arrives in Washington for United States-Africa Forum

A senior delegation from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, led by the presidential couple, Their Excellencies Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and Constancia Mangue de Obiang, has been in Washington DC since Sunday night. The delegation includes Ministers, Advisers and Director Generals from the Head of State’s Office, is there to participate in the work of the Africa-USA Summit, scheduled for 13th to 15th December.

The Africa-US Leaders’ Summit is a growing partnership. Africa is a major geopolitical player which includes some of the world’s fastest growing economies. The president, H. E. Joe Biden, will host the summit, which will bring together leaders from across the African continent to discuss bold, practical ways to strengthen ties and make progress regarding common priorities.

The President of the United States is committed to work with African governments, civil society, diaspora communities across the United States and the private sector, in order to further strengthen the shared vision for the future of United States-Africa relations.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s last trip to Africa shaped the past, present and future of the US as a trusted partner.

The summit will conclude with sessions on the diaspora, African youth and leaders, global health, food security, climate change and investment in energy and infrastructure.
